Each room has a bathroom with a toilet, shower, and washbasin. Tenants are also responsible for cleaning the common areas. The kitchenette does not have a stove fan; only heating food is allowed in the room. You will cook your meals in the shared kitchen. Annual rent adjustments occur after negotiations with the Tenants' Association. If you are already living with SGS and apply for another accommodation, please note that you have your notice period and may risk paying double rent. If you move in during April, May, June, or July, you will pay a lower rent during this period. From August 1, it will switch to a 10-month charge, i.e., the advertised rent. If you stay in the accommodation for the following years, June and July will be rent-free months. The property was built at the end of the 19th century and has since been used for various purposes, most recently as a hotel. Today, the property houses 52 single rooms that SGS Student Housing rents from an external property owner. Nya Varvet is a historic district and former naval port. The green area today consists of homes where the proximity to the sea is striking. Along the beach walk towards Tångudden and into town, there are both restaurants and cafes. From the property, you can reach central Gothenburg in about 30 minutes. Many people wish to live in a smoke-free environment, and to meet these desires and create a good living environment, smoking is prohibited in the accommodation, in common areas, and on balconies and patios. Smoking is also not permitted outdoors in the immediate vicinity of the property.
